Common Symptoms
Sharp pain in the side or back, pain radiating to the lower abdomen and groin, painful urination, pink or brown urine, nausea and — if infection develops — fever and chills. Any severe pain with fever should be evaluated the same day.
How We Diagnose
A focused consultation, urine analysis, blood tests and a low-dose non-contrast CT scan (the gold standard for stone disease) or ultrasound. Dr. Mujeeb reviews every image personally and explains findings in plain language before recommending a plan.
Modern Treatment Options
Small stones: hydration, alpha-blockers and pain control. Medium stones: ESWL (shockwave lithotripsy) to break stones from outside the body. Larger or hard stones: ureteroscopy with holmium laser lithotripsy — a scarless procedure that leaves the patient stone-free the same day in most cases.
Preventing a Recurrence
